It is out. That is, it comes out in July 2013, but if you order it you can already play the Beta version, which to me seems reasonably bug-free.

Multiplayer, that is. Single-player with computer controlled enemies/team-mates is likely never going to work very well. Then, this is a multiplayer game primarily.

So, masochists can now get shot in the head not only in the dismal vistas of WWII Soviet Russia but also in enriched multicultural engagements on lush Pacific islands.

Multiplayer is not for those faint of heart, because it takes great skill and the first 40-120 hours, depending on how quickly you learn are downright unpleasant. Getting shot, especially in even fights is extremely easy.

Also, it is one of the few games that attempts to portray violence sort-of-realistically, so many people shot do not die instantly but instead spends sometimes dozens of seconds screaming for their mothers while writhing in pain. Important to go for spine/head shots, because otherwise it is very possible at close range to get shot by a dying enemy, especially if he has a submachinegun..

And so on. Could use better gore graphics and would make a very good anti-recruitment tool.

Unlike the US military wargame (Americas Army) which provides entertainment and information to help with recruitment without showing the gore or agony and so on..

Not honest, until they start kitting out soldier with gore-hiding smart glasses.
