    Mauser ID Help

This Mauser has landed in my lap due to no one else wanting to claim it. Supposedly someone brought it back from WWII. I do know it's full auto but nothing beyond that. Also what caliber is it? I have one magazine for it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Easy. It's a Walther G43 (the designation changed to K43 on 25 April, 1944), as seen by the "G43" in this picture:

    W. Darrin Weaver's Hitler's Garands has the full story. It's in 7.92x57mm ("8mm Mauser"), as is the K98k. It is semiautomatic only, at least that's the way they were manufactured .

    Regards,

    Walt

They are worth a good deal if unaltered.
Pity that Bubba put on a recoil pad and lost off the clearing rod and sight hood.
I have a few facts and a lot of opinions.

Thanks guys! I figured it wouldn't be worth much since it also has a cracked stock(you can't really see it well in the pics but it's significant). Maybe I'll keep it in the safe and restore it someday.
