    Question Acog mount……thing……

Ok, I was over at Trijicon’s website and was looking at the ACOG scopes just for the heck of it. I came across a Mini-14 adapter, and as a mini owner it intrigued me. But, for the best of me, I cannot figure out how this attaches to the gun. Anybody got any ideas???

It's one of several designs that mount into the receiver cavity that holds the bolt hold-open mechanism.

Haven't tried 'em though. The one you show is specifically for the Compact ACOG and won't work with, say, the TA01 or any in that category.

thanks for the reply, I was thinking it went along those lines...
I am not so sure that is the best mounting method....

The best method for mounting the Compact ACOG on a Ruger Mini would be to use the factory receiver cuts, but you don't say whether your Mini has them. Nor does Trijicon offer a way to do that, it seems.

The mount you show was made for those "standard" mini-14s that came without receiver scope mount cuts. Those rifles haven't been made for a while, but there are still plenty of them around. It's odd that Trijicon supports the old standard Mini that way. I suppose it's a way of offering only one mount for the Mini instead of two (all the Minis have that same system for the bolt lock, but not all have the receiver cuts).

ACOG expensive glass for a Mini-14

ACOGs are rather pricey for a Ruger Mini-14...and they look better on AR-15s.

    Just my $0.02...

oh, i was just wondering about them, I have a Leupold on mine right now that is dong just fine. I do not plan on getting an ACOG for my mini. but, i am looking at getting an aimpoint red dot.

and by the way, its the target mini, so it shoots a tad bit better than the standard.

    Thanks for the answers guys
