    Good Gun Periodicals?

Ok guys/gals. I want a subscription to a good gun magazine. Guns and Ammo has always been well known. Opinions on it?

What are some other good ones I should be considering? My main interest lies in handguns, but I like reading about long guns too.

Guns Magazine is my runaway favorite.
Fine writers like Dave Anderson,Mas Ayoob,John Connor,Clint Smith, John Taffin and Duke Venturino.
Much worthwhile info without overdosing you on favorite manufacturers or pounding the political rhetoric.
Shooting Times comes in second and American Handgunner third, good all around pubs.
I've tried them all and sold them for a living. These are the picks of the litter,IMO.

Guns & Ammo is way low on my list; I'm not into rifles ... my favorites are American Handgunner and Combat Handguns ... I get a few others, but those are the best imho

SWAT and Small Arms Review are excellent. I've had subscriptions to most of the gun mags out there, and those are the only two I've kept.

I've read 'em all over the years. The best one of the batch presently in my opinion is the American Rifleman. And you get it free with your NRA membership. If the Rifleman doesn't appeal to you, there are two other magazines produced by the NRA to choose from.

American Rifleman is my vote - other NRA publications would be a close second. I find their articles and reviews much more objective and trustworthy.

I'm an off and on subscriber to Guns and Ammo. I like that I often see new stuff there first. However, I do not think their reviews are anywhere close to objective - good luck finding one where they really criticize a gun they're testing. This is true of most of the commercial mags. They depend on advertising revenue to pay their bills, and guess who their advertisers are? Don't want to tick them off...

Concealed Carry Magazine. The title says it all. No stories about fishing or unrelated weapons.

I used to subscribe to several. I'm now down to "Guns" and "Small Arms Review".

Handloader and Rifle are well-written, but I've gotten as far up to speed on those topics as I want at this point.

(I'm not saying there isn't more that could be learned).
