    19-3 2.5" price check?

I've got an opportunity to buy a 19-3 (P&R) 2.5" for about $350. Gun is is very good condition, but doesn't QUITE carry up when dragging on the cylinder in S/A mode. Without my fingers holding it back it locks up fine for both SA and DA. Aftermarket grips only, no box etc.

Is this a good price? These things are listing at over $500 on gunbroker. Dealer said he'd pay freight to send it back to S&W for timing.
A compact 19 for the price of a 14 sounds like a deal to me. Is it?

    Thanks,

Buy it. Buy it right now, or tell me where it is.

Seriously, all the pre-lock Smiths seem to be quickly escalating in price (much ado over nothing if you ask me, but that's another issue), I wouldn't hesitate a second on a 19 at $350.

    I think it's a go.
In fact I wanted it for my partner - looks like she likes it too.
No, I wouldn't let her get a snubby for her first gun, so no worries there, it's not her first. She's wanted a 19 for awhile, and it looks like this is the one.

On the gunsmithing side, can you tighten up timing in a smith by replacing the hand with a fresh part?

buy it, send it to S&W for the full monty reblue & 'combat upgrade'.

    you'll have a 101% keeper.

what's a "combat upgrade"? The finish is in nice shape already, better than my two smiths (somehow she always gets the best ones....)

It's got the target trigger too - I think she'll prefer a standard width with a smooth face.

    Done.
$360 total out the door (well, after waiting etc.).
    Thanks for the help!

Good deal on a great revolver. I love the 2.5" K frames.
