Need a good source for a Vulcan EBF

It's pretty much the only thing that the nine year old wants for Christmas that won't be overly painful to me, his sister, or his mother.

No more airsoft. Definitely not a BB gun. And I'll be damned if I buy him another video game.

Maybe he'll learn sooner or later. Too damn many cartoons and video games thus far tho...

    Seriously.

He's going to DIE if he doesn't get one.

Not to mention, the world as we know it will come to an end.

He's also decided he wants yet another cap gun. The ones he has have all broken. Endless snap-firing. Endless. Repetitive. Snap. Firing.

    Vulcan EBF?

Bogie, both Target and WalMart offer the Vulcan for about $35, IIRC - and I know that at Target, at least, you can also get additional dart belts for $8. If they aren't in stock in store, try online.

We WANTS it, we does! Yesssss, my precious, we WANTS IT!!! I fully intend to get this for Christmas, with AT LEAST one additional belt. Yeah, I'm 37 - so what?

The Vulcans are actually junk. They fire something like 2-3 darts per second, and make a stupid sewing machine type noise, like an electric airsoft. Horrendously underpowered, as well. Get 'im a Magstrike instead! They need to be pumped up, but they fire 10 shots in about a second. And the noise they make! "BANGBANGBANG!" It helps to pump 25-30 times, until the letoff valve starts hissing. Higher pressure = higher rate of fire. With good trigger discipline, you can fire both clips (no moving parts, so they're clips ) on one tank.

I bought two of 'em while I was in college, so I could dual wield during the occasional nerf battle. Anyone within 20 feet was in big trouble.

Here's a video I found showing the firing rate.

(Yeah, that's not 5 per second, despite what the guy says)

Now compare that to the lame-o Vulcan.

"Zip... zip... zip..." No comparison, is there?

Actually I've got a third Magstrike. I bought two, one broke, and I ended up with 2 replacements instead of just 1. If you're interested, I'll send you it for just the cost of shipping, as my good deed for the year. I need to make sure I still have the box and accessories, though.
He hit the ground, the sound was splat, his blood went spurting high
His comrades they were heard to say "a helluva way to die"
He lay there rolling round in the welter of his gore
And he ain't gonna jump no more

    Sounds fine to me...

    Sounds like "strike-strike-strike" to me...

Wal-Mart. $35. If I remember correctly, you live in the St. Charles area. The St. Peters Wal-Mart on Jungermann Road has them- go in the new front door on the right side of the store, hang a left to follow that main aisle. Keep going. And going; the aisle is pretty long now.

When you get to the toy section, it will be on your right (pass the microwaves, but it's before the bikes).
The family that shoots together, has interlocking fields of fire.

30 years, heck lets go 60 . Had a bunch of fairly crude models used a closepin on back of handgun grip making a sqeeze release. Dad made me a more sophisticated rifle with a flipper to "flip" the rubber band up.
I made my son one that although a single shot, looked like a double barrel shotgun . The groove where the two barrels(large dowels) joined guided a large knotted rubber band making it very accurate.
