Seems that they could have found someone more appropriate to endorse their products to me. Mr Horiuchi is likely well known by a lot of gun owners and I'm sure that his name on an endorsement won't bring them much business.

I didn't get the employment connection either, just the endorsement. In any case, if H-S Precision is intent on using a sterling citizen such as Horiuchi as an endorser they can forget my business.

Edited to add: And I just sent an email to let them know my feelings.

Horiuchi is still a free man?

HS Precision gets endorsement from Lon Horuchi

Blog o'Stuff is reporting that HS Precision has obtained an endorsement from Lon Horuchi.

For those who don't remember, Lon Horuchi is the FBI sniper at Ruby Ridge who shot Vicki Weaver through the head while she held her baby in her arms.

Extraordinary amount of dumb in involved in that decision. I wonder if they meant to insult those of us who know what he did?

I left a voice mail and may call during business hours too.

I just called them and left a voice mail.

I told them that they should not have hired him, mentioned Ruby Ridge and that many people will be boycotting their products.

    I gave them a LINK to this board too. ; . )

I told them it was on the internet about them hiring him.

I wanted to say it was STUPID but I held back even if it is stupid and WRONG!

Catherine with a C if the company decides to read this board and other gun and political forums on the WWWeb discussing them hiring HIM. Ugh. Hello to Big Brother too! Kiss-kiss.

I like how their site has this giant logo:

You should call the office and not just send

email letters about them hiring this man!

Be polite and mention Ruby Ridge in my NOT so humble opinion. Mention boycott if you intend to boycott this company. Spread the word about this subject on other pro gun, all political boards, patriot boards, etc. Get the word out! I can't believe that they did not know who this man (?!?) is and what HE did. Others of his ilk too... ugh.

    We will NOT forget!

Ruby Ridge is only one half of the story. He was also at Waco and there is some speculation that he fired first, starting the chain of events that caused the inferno.
    From his wikipedia article:
"On September 13, 1993, Charles Riley, a fellow F.B.I. sniper deployed during the Waco Siege claimed that he had heard Horiuchi shooting from Sierra 1, an F.B.I.-held house in front of the compound holding eight snipers, including Horiuchi and Christopher Curran. Riley later retracted his statement, saying that he had been misquoted, and that he had only heard snipers at Sierra 1 announce that shots had been fired upon by Branch Davidians.[1]

Three of the twelve expended .308 Winchester shell casings that the Texas Rangers reported finding in the house were at Horiuchi's position. However, officials maintain that they could have been left behind from the earlier use of the house by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and that it would be "nearly impossible" to match them to Horiuchi's rifle, as it had probably been rebarreled since that time.[2]"
I'm such an Operator that Gecko45 has a poster of me on his wall.

No surprise in this one. They make just the kind of rifles a guy like Horiuchi would love to use to take you out from a long way away in the woods.

They're getting an email from me, too.

    Dale,

Send the email and pass the word around too. I did this with MSSA and two other people so far.

    Thanks and take care.

I sent an email to H-S Precision.

I told them that as a firearms retailer, I couldn't believe the brazen disregard for the opinion of the shooting community.

I asked them if they had publicly repudiated that endorsement or if they were about to.

We'll see if they get it or not.

H-S Precision needs to hear from EVERYONE in the gun owning and shooting community.

    Lets get busy.
