    When do police return gun?

Was reading another thread which got me wondering, you've been involved in a SD situation where you shot your weapon in SD and the case was closed with no charges filed against you, OR, charges were dropped, OR you were acquitted after a hearing.

Has anyone any first or secondhand knowledge on the above situation?

You will get it back, but it will take months. THAT'S why Jeff Cooper advised those who carry to have a second carry piece to use till the first one comes back.

In our case, when the Prosecutor's Office releases it. If there is no DV connection, then when the case is "closed", and a no bill or not guilty is returned then evidence is returned.

It took about two weeks, and someone had even cleaned and re-lubed it for me!

If that were the case a good deal of my people would be turning into duty firearms for that service.
