My sons first trip to the range.

Last summer we took my youngest son to the range for his first time trying actual firearms.
He has had BB, pellet, airsoft... but never showed much interest in actual firearms.
We had just recently purchased a Savage Mako .22, and figured it would be a good rifle for him to learn on.
I explained it all to him... bolt, safety, trigger, sighting, breathing, pull...
I think I explained it right.
This is his first target at 50 yards off of a rest.

At 50 yards he has fun picking off shotgun shells and assorted range brass now.
Next trip I am setting him up at the 100 yard range.

Jeez dad, sight that rifle in a little better for him, and he'd be a real threat to those bullseyes!

It's great taking a kid shooting, ain't it? How old is he?

Any of us with Children should be passing on the sport. It is awsome to see their faces when they shoot a good group. Like the one you posted FoMoGo. Nice job.
