    Glock 26 Fobus Holster help

    Hi all,

I just bought a Fobus GL2E2 for my Glock 26. The dealer knew specifically which one I needed when I told him what Glock I had.

Alright, I bring it home, slide the Glock in. It fits like a glove. Nice, snug, no movement. But...it takes two hands to pull it out, or draw it, and I am not kidding. It's too tight, or it's sticking on something. There is no way I could use this to carry and hope for the best.

Is there any fix (lube, loosening a screw) to do to it, or should I bring it back?

    Thanks

If you can return it, do so. I own two Fobus holsters and they are probably the lowest quality holsters I have. FWIW. Uncle Mike's or RSR Defense are cheap kydex holsters that are a definite step above the Fobus, in the same price range of $10-20. And for $30-50 you can get actual quality - I would check out 5.11 tactical kydex holsters at LA Police Gear as a good place to start.

I would also consider a leather holster instead, but that's a different discussion. Kydex is just fine if that's what you want, but I find leather, or the nylon trilaminate (from Bianchi) to be friendlier to concealed carry.

I don't know that exact model, but many kydex holsters do have one or two tension screws that can be adjusted to make things work better. If it doesn't have those, you could try filing it a little bit, or heating it up til it's soft and bending it out a bit - probably hard to do without ruining the fit, though.
Have you donated to NRA-ILA lately? They need your money now!

With the attitude that the FOBUS people treated me at last year's NRA show you couldn't give me another of their holsters.

Thanks. Can't return it -- the dealer is hard to deal with. It has the adjustment screw and I let it all the way out. Helps a little but not much. The only smooth draw I get is when I wear it at 5 o'clock which is real pain because it is a hard reach. I am going to try to file it a bit, and then throw it away if it doesn't work.

I have other holsters I an use and do use. The Fobus, however, rides high enough to hide under a t-shirt and doesn't show as much as Uncle Mike's.

Yes, I do have UM's IWB holster, but putting the weapon back is almost impossible without loosening my belt
