Could We PA-LEEZ Look Before Posting?

The are currently about 3 threads going about Eric Holder's desire to re-instate the AWB.

There are 4 or more threads about the IA guard searching people's houses for training.

Why is it so flippin' hard to take a quick look around and see if someone else already has a thread about what you want to talk about going before posting your thread?

You mean you really want us to go to the trouble of at least looking over the front page before starting a new thread? That is just way too much to ask.

Treo ... I find myself in the unusual position of actually being in wholehearted agreement with you.

Your request would seem obvious, but it did need to be said ...

And it doesn't appear that there is any real moderator presence these days, either, since thread-merges that should happen aren't happening (and the "report this post" feature doesn't seem to attract any attention as well).

I've noticed the same thing; in fact, I've been thinking about demanding a refund.

No. I know from a technical point of view it's a waste of bandwith but for the love of mike, I want as many people to read about this as possible. It's a major threat to our existance as gun owners in America and we need to spread the word as much as possible.

But having multiple, parallel threads dilutes the discussion. They should be merged. (If they get started -- which "they" shouldn't.)

I've often wondered why people don't actually read a post before responding with an attack. Just people's upbringing I guess.

I asked the same question of a mod recently. The answer was that they are a little short of mods, and that the mods here have been asked to keep a light hand on the reins. It really should be up to us to police ourselves and each other first, before resorting to getting a mod involved.
I repeat - some people are just itching to get their panties in a wad about something. And this is why I normally stay out of Legal. <sigh>

Anybody know if it is legal for my mother's brother second cousin to send me a handgun from California to New Jersey? My buddy next door said for him just to drop it in a corner mailbox in a flat rate box with a bunch of stamps on it, but my FFL said that it had to be hand carried by a CA FFL to a NJ FFL who had to receive it in person from the CA FFL and they were going to charge me $3,000 for the process....

I think that Treo with only 2700 posts is obvioulsy a troll trying to defeat our 2nd amendment rights by keeping the posts down so people can't read them.

Most people on this board are learning. There are no guides to help people understand proper etiquette.

A lot of things I see here would get a person issued points toward a vacation or a ban on other boards.

How many people do not use spell check?

How many people use spell check and don't understand that it corrected the word to one with a different meaning?

I have lost count of the number of times someone has drug up a post from months or years ago, and don't see the issue.

How about those people who don't read the entire post, just the title or the op topic and then rush to post a reply. Usually having no idea that someone has provided the same information.

So no, nothing here really surprises me.

please explain the "issue" with bringing up older threads.

what is the use of charts, graphs, reference books,in fact any research at all. all these represent old threads.

is'nt needlessly starting new threads what this thread was/is about?

is'nt this the result of not using search to begin with?

the high road is the only site i go to that has a fit over old threads.

please explain the "issue" with old threads being "drug" up.

complaints about new threads because someone did'nt use the search function, then complaining about someone who does and brings up a pertinent older thread.

    now,which way is it?

There is no "issue" with old threads being bumped up IF there is relevant updates, new information, fresh perpective etc.

New threads that are a regurgitation of 14 older threads saying the same thing makes things pretty useless.

For example a recent thread started with Holders jackass comment with the link to the ABC write up, lots of heat and light then the Pelosi comment came out, more discussion. At post 75ish then someone suddenly joined and starts in on "I just saw this"....The same original ABC Holder link...........

Don't blame Treo. It's not his fault, it's that clean Colorado air that has him all messed up.
