    Question thehighroad.org vs. thehighroad.us??

Hey guys I must have missed the schism, I never realized that there were two sites. Now I am not sure which site to post on...

I understand thehighroad.org is being contested in court, and thehighroad.us is the new(er) site started by Oleg after he lost admin control of thehighroad.org, am I correct?

I would like to support Oleg as I was around when he started The High Road after The Firing Line went down.

    Thanks,
    Cameron

there is supposed to be some litigation about the ownership of the titel "thehighroad".....though i havent heard of any updated information. the wheels of justice turn slow ya know.

once the case has been decided all one has to do is google the .org and the .us and see which one is still up and running.

The mods at .org are rather silly anyway. Calling the AKM a good rifle is Nazi sympathizing there. This place is much cooler.

I'm surprised he didn't get banned from .org for bringing up the topic.

There really is nothing new to report on the situation, so why fan the flames?

I have my own suspicions about what went on and why, but they are just supposition.

I have found it curious that most of the moderators at the time of the incident seem to have stuck at .org. Not really sure what that means if anything.

My guess is the case will go through the court system until one side runs out of money to litigate it and gives up.

I did notice the tone of the mods over there. Unfortunate circumstances.

I have been popping in and out of THR since it was started, and the migration from TFL, and I always new it was founded (at least in part) by Oleg.

    Interesting.

Well considering the posts from the mods over there I guess I will bookmark www.thehighroad.us then.

I look at both, I prefer this one. The mods at .org are a little heavy handed in deleting posts for no apparent reason. "My way or the highway!"

I don't think that things are as bad as people think they are over at the .org site. For instance - this is the closing post for this thread over there:
This is frankly old news, and has been beaten to death here and elsewhere.
There are two sites. Both serve the RKBA community. The protagonists in the dispute are pursuing legal remedies to their differences, and those actions lay outside of the scope of keeping these sites running and useful. Everyone should feel free to post wherever they please, without stigma.
    And so it is.
    Pretty clear, concise, and non-judgmental.
I think that the reason threads get closed more quickly there is that there are more new people on the site, many of whom are not "High Road" in their demeanor. I have seen many more idiotic macho "shoot first and ask questions later" posts over there, and the level of personal courtesy appears to be lower as well.
    Just MHO

That's one reason. But there is also a very different moderation style. It's developed over the last few years and, by all accounts, intensified after this trouble started and not necessarily for the better.

dictator rbernie gave me 5 points and a week suspension--
said i was raciest. an individual had posted about troubles both he and his wife had had in a large city on a street named MLK Dr. i posted that {true} streets with MLK in the name are generally in areas of higher crime and one needed to exercise greater caution or a different route.
it is sad that misled liberals thought changing a street name would bring less crime and sadder still they linked MLK to their failed theory.

i am not going back to .org where such abuse of power rules.

I'm closing this thread because the question has been answered and we can't answer for or influence the decisions of moderators on .org. I'm sure Oleg will make an announcement when there is something noteworthy to report.
