    Bianchi Gunleather

HELP! Picked up on a good deal (or at least I thought it was a good deal) on a Bianchi Model 5BH for my GP100. WOW this thing is tight! Tight enough to make it impractical for useful carry. I've used Galco leather for my 1911's with great satisfaction for many years. But this Bianchi is tight, tight, tight! Any recommendations for loosening up this otherwise nice piece of gunleather .....or do I go back to Galco?

    Wear it!

Seriously, put a gun in it, and wear it for a few days. I think you'll find it will break in just like a new pair of shoes!

I'll echo that. Wearing it is the best way to get the leather to conform to you and your gun. If you don't like the way it wears at the moment, put a gun in it and just wear it around your house for a few hours a day (seriously) until it breaks in. Then its ready for daily duty.

A little water on the inside, put the gun in a plastic baggie, shove it in over night.
The last Bianchi I bought was an IWB revolver rig, and it was proudly marked, "Made in Mexico".

Thank you Gents. Ya, I think I acted a bit prematurely in writing. I have been literally "working" it with an unloaded GP100 on multiple cycles trying to get the thing to work in and it is starting to get usable. Shame about the "Made in Mexico" thing. I'm disappointed in myself having failed to pick up on that at the purchase. But it sure stuck out like a dog's gender on the back side of the leather once I got home. My Platoon Sergeant from my early days at Quantico would be very disappointed in my lack of "Attention to Detail". God Bless you GySgt Buttke, wherever you are!

He'd be even MORE disappointed with you if he knew an ex-squid had to point it out to you!

LOL....Yup fair hit Armoredman; had that one coming. Considering I was among those Marines who spent a fair amount of time underway along with the fact that my brother and now my eldest son are "shoes" I'm pretty fond of squids.

"...Shame about the "Made in Mexico" thing..." Not as bad as it sounds. Mexico is known for making very high quality leather.
Wet forming it is far better than just wearing it. Faster too. Run it under warm tap water to get it wet, but not dripping, put the revolver in(baggies are optional) and let it dry completely. 24 hours at least.
    "...Marines...squids..." Boat People. snicker.

asia, in that case, he's probably with Chesty now, so we'll toss him a long distance salute, and let it go.

The more Mexicans employed in Mexico. That is a not a bad thing. They buy a lot of American stuff. China does not, they lend us money to buy thier stuff.

There are a lot of custom makers in the US that would like to have your business. You will get a better quality product for the money. It will be tailored fit to your gun and your body.

Ref the made in Mexico remark; please don't get me wrong gents. Though I reckon it could use some reinforcing stitching around the belt loops it is a real fine piece of gun leather and as you all predicted, she's breaking in just fine. In fact I intend to do some trail hiking here tomorrow afternoon after church with it on my hip. It's just given the choice I prefer to trade with my fellow Americans to help 'em put food on the table. For my S&W Model 25 I'm going to go custom with an outfit called Simply Rugged up in Wasilla AK.
