    Madsen LAR

The Madsen LAR is an advanced AK derivative that used chromium plated gas parts which early M16's lacked and high tensile alloy/steel to reduce weight of the overall weapon. It was avaliable with a wooden stock, fixed tube stock, side folding and underfolding stock. Due to the mass sales of the FN FAL and H&K G3 and introduction of the then-new 5.56x45mm NATO round, The Madsen LAR was considered a weapon before its time.

Madsen LAR with full lengh wooden stock:

It is my understanding that this rifle was also trialed in an experimental cartridge 7x36mm Otterup.

Interesting rifle...I wonder if there were ever any semi-auto only variants made...

That first one looks like a mad scientist cross of a Mini-14, AK and SKS.
