Old Grump, I read it when I travel. It's a freebie at the hotel. I also read NYT once in a while. But to see what's really going on in the US, I find the London Daily Telegraph hard to beat.
And the USA Today will keep running polls until the results agree with their agenda. Then they will publish the results.

Only time I ever read USA Today is when I am eating a continental breakfast and sipping weak coffee in some hotel. They always seem to be free with the room--never any other paper, no matter which hotel. Hmm...
