    Rifle scope upgrade?

I have a Leupold VX-1 in 3x9x40 on my Remington 700 ADL in .270. It's worked fine so far. Wondering what difference, if any, it would make upgrading to a VX-II, VX-III, Nikon Monarch, Zeiss Conquest, etc. I primarily hunt from deer stands, deer blinds and still hunt.

I won't do it until after deer season. Thoughts?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The primary difference between the VX-1 and later Leupold's is click adjustments instead of friction adjustments.

I wouldn't replace a VX-1 just to get clicks you will never click again after you sight it in the first time.

rcmodel is exactly right: if you can't do it with the fine scope you're currently using, it can't be done.

I've been thinking about putting a VX-1 on the .308 I recently acquired. I intend to work up a load, sight it in once, then leave it alone.
