    Staunton Shoot n Greet #1001a_Virginia

It's almost time for the next SSNG in beautiful Staunton, VA.
This is a "special" SSNG that is being held on 1/1/10 (New Year's Day)

More details at the SSNG web page.

Can't wait to see folks there for the first greet of 2010!

I guess we will see you all out there. Like I said earlier I will bring a Garand and an Enfield. I will also bring a full size 1911 I am thinking about selling.

I'l be there. I will be bringing a couple of suppressed pistols and my new NAA Black Widow. And yes, I sprung for the laser sight for it. The sight is approx ONE INCH LONG. The attached picture is not mine, I found it on the web somewhere.

    Are we having fun yet?

I am thinking that they might not find the range before 1 January. Especially if there is more coming over Christmas.

I'd feel better if JEEP wasn't now part of the OMC (Obama Motors Collective).

Well, they used to be "American Motors Corporation" and now apparently they are again.

    Update, Update, Update

I know that I bill the SSNG as an "All weather" event, but the forecast has the potential to go WAY beyond "challenging" and well into "dangerous".

WATCH THE WEBPAGE [ http://sites.google.com/site/cyansamurai/ssng ] for updates because if we do start getting snow/ice I'm not risking myself or anyone else for this event.

I say again...CHECK THE WEBPAGE before you head out on New Year's Day.

They do NOT maintain the roads up to the Hite Hollow Shooting range so even if conditions are not especially bad, a 4x4 vehicle is pretty much going to be a requirement at this point.

I am going to cancel my appearance at this particular shoot. I have a three-hour-each-way drive and it doesn't seem worth it to freeze my fingers off.

I bet some determined plow-owner has plowed the road past the No Maintenance sign but it's prolly real narrow and someone coming the other way would screw up traffic.

See you guys on January 31st,
    Mike D.

I don't see the issue. What is the worst that could happen?

    Ze,

Unfortunately, it looks like we're probably going to cancel as well, which is a shame since I wanted to talk to you about possibly sponsoring a "SSNG" from our store. We'd offer a box of ammo, or something else "shooter" related for some of your contests.

    Sigh...

Give me a call sometime this weekend and we can talk.

I'm glad we will have one more meet here in January as it will be my last chance to shoot and meet with my friends before we head back to Louisiana for good.

I see on the web page it is canceled. Tis a pity but probably wise.
