    amt 22 backup info needed

i have a 22 backup with a broken extractor. and i have the parts to repair but when looking at the exploded diagram and break-down instructions that came with the handgun,
it references the .380... and its not even close

any one here have any experiance on disassembly ?

replacing the extractor and related components will be a piece of cake....
once i can get this little thing apart.

    thanks in advance

If no one else can help you might contact the folks here...very in depth with the AMT's.

    Top extractor or side?

If it's a side extractor you don't have to field strip the gun to replace it.

    1. Pull the slide back and block it open with something. A rag will do.

    2. Install the extractor plunger (beveled side faces inboard) and spring into its hole (spring first) and compress the plunger with a tiny screwdriver and simply slip the extractor into its slot. Release the pressure and you're done. Do this inside a big bag or you stand the chance of launching spring and plunger into another dimension. It'll help some if you have three hands.

If it's a top extractor you'll have to look elsewhere as I've never worked on one.

    amt extracter

I lost the extracter for my amt.22 backup at the range yesterday. Can you tell me where you picked up your parts? I have looked on the net but so far, nothing. Mine has the extracter on the side just like yours. If I could get an accurate size of the part, I think I may be able to make one. Thanks.

I'm assuming that you have the single-action version? And welcome to THR! Nice to see new folks here.
