You can buy a metal one with a laser in it: http://www.lasermax.com/product.php?id=16 - -looks like Midway has something - not sure what the polywhatever does: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=172414

I am sure Brownells would have something as well.

    Bar Sto Barrels, David Alisso...

I'd check the Bar Sto barrel website. I'm not sure what it is but I think I saw metal Beretta guide rods as a replacement. You may also contact well known Beretta pistol gunsmith David Alesso(check correct spelling). He has 92-96 series parts and does service work.
Im not a big fan of plastic-polymer parts but they are more popular today than 10 years ago. I have a PX4 and it's guide rod is plastic. The 9mm is fairly new but Im not sure if it could last a long time or hold up to hard use.
