Found a place to shoot at 2 miles from my house!

I'm super excited! I did some searching on google maps, around my house for a possible location to shoot. Well, drove there today, and what did I find? 4 guys with guns shooting up the side of a mountain. Great! It's only 2 miles from my house! Gonna be able to get a lot of range time now..

You must be the guy who was asking a little while ago. Now the problem will be finding and affording ammo!

Lots of people start rolling their own ammunition is to save money. The reason we continue rolling our own is to enjoy better accuracy.

You planning to put a radio out there so you can tell 'em to duck while you're setting up on the back porch with a Barrett?

Now we end up shooting more accurate ammo in larger quantities for the same money!

You Bastard! I'm 7 miles from the range I shoot at and up until just now, I thought I had it pretty good!

Aran, I feel certain there is a gun club (hunting) with a range in your county. As you know, it is a big deer hunting area.

Lucky. I have to drive 45 minutes to get to my favorite range.

There is probably some desert area that is a lot closer, but I don't know what area I can shoot.

50 yards, down the hill behind the house.

Oh, I'm not actually in Indiana anymore... As for the hardware store, I doubt it, I don't know of any hardware stores there anymore other than Lowe's. The town is pretty well dead other than IUP

I have to spend 45 minutes packing the car before making the 5 mile drive to our land. Otherwise I'll forget something critical, like ammo, or the gun I was planning to shoot. Targets, I can improvise, though I do sometimes feel silly shooting at a couple of tree branches stuck in the ground.

Aran, Are you in the Indiana PA area? There's a range along 22 between Armagh and Nanty Glo, about 1/4 mi west of Dishong Mtn Rd. It's a sportsman's club but I don't know what it's called. I drive past it on the way to Pittsburgh all the time. Looks like it is a 300 yd range. Only about 20 or so miles from Indiana, per google maps.

No, I'm back to Pittsburgh, I really should change that one of these days.

I can't afford a membership anywhere, can't be bothered to drive to Wexford to the SGL range, so I'm just going without for a while.

    It's really tough here

I would have to walk a hundred yards out back to my pistol range through deep crusty snow.

Walk onto deck, options available out to 500 yards. Hiking around on property yields more challenging shots.

Oohh yeah that sounds like a really tuffy, lol.

I live in a somewhat rural type neighborhood, surrounded on three sides by woods and very large hills. Would be a perfect place down by the 'crick' as we say to go shooting. But since I'm inside city limits with a "no discharging firearms inside the city limits" ordy... it's all wasted space
