One bad apple: Shooting on Blue Ridge Parkway

UPDATE: Police Look for Shooter on Blue Ridge Parkway

Virginia State Police are looking for a shooter in the Shenandoah National Forest.

The search is happening about a mile south of Hump Back Rock. About 25 Augusta County and Virginia State Police officers are searching for a white man with long, grey hair. The suspect may have possibly been driving a red Ford Taurus. It's possible a shotgun may have been involved in the shooting.

A VSP trooper confirms three people were injured and two have been taken to UVA Medical Center.

We have confirmed reports that two people have been shot.

We have a crew on the scene.

    I'm monitoring for further developments.
You just have to know that the anti's are going to try and "make hay" over this one due to the "guns in National Parks" law.

I can see where'd they'd make hay about it. However, this guy broke the law by bringing a loaded shotgun into the park. Current State Law only allows Open and Concealed Handguns to be carried. So, I think it's doubtful this is a Concealed Carry Permit holder.

Still, it's asshats like this that make the long fought progress so difficult to hold onto.

Long gray hair? Doper protecting his horticultural efforts? Jumping to conclusions here but with all the grass growing on public land stories lately it makes me lean that way.

Glad they caught the guy. Shocker, the man had a shotgun and didn't care about the laws...

    Wasn't ME.

Hell' I wont even shoot a gun in the yard,
even though my next store 'ex nun' biker lady neighbor did just that.

Still wonder if the boy slipped off the trolley or if he was trying to protect something he didn't want anybody to find. I'm guessing he isn't a member of MENSA.
