Inxpensive thumbrake OWB Holster

Howdy,
I am currently looking for a relatively inexpensive leather if possible, will consider cloth, no polymer, holster for a fullsize 1911 that has a thumbreak safety that will allow it to be carried cocked and locked, with the thumbstrap between the hammer and the firing pin. I will basically be using it to carry in glove compartment and the thumbreak adds an additional action, required to store on in the vehicle, while driving in my state. Don't have CCW!!!!

Not sure what you consider inexpensive, but leather's going to be more than a synthetic (you probably already know that).

Desantis has some.

Don Hume has at least one.

Midway had this, they could have more. This one's only $13.99. If you go to Midway you can list all the holsters they have available for Government 1911's.

Thank your for replying and giving me links to investigate. Due to the use, I certainly don't believe I require anything expensive. I am never going to wear it except at the range, maybe.

I was wondering if a pistol rug like this would maybe suit your purposes better. It would probably protect the gun better, but be a little slower to access.

Thanks for the thought. I have pistol rug now and wish something a little quicker to action. I saw a Hume model that was $32, which is in the range I wish to spend and am awaiting confirmation of the thumbreak allowing cocked and locked extra layer of protection by the leather of the thumbread interceding.

Try Sportsmen's Guide.

They have some inexpensive leather thumb break holsters. They have a thumb break for the 5 1/2" Ruger Blackhawks that I like better than most others I have seen.

They also have a 4 or 5 (one of them is SOB [small of back] positon holster for the 1911 which has a thumb break. The angles they advertise are not that great for belt carry but if you are only carrying it in the glove compartment, it should do.
