Seeking reviews on the Kimber Pepper Blaster

I've been pondering picking up a pair of these for forays into areas unfriendly to the armed citizen, but I don't really need a discussion on legality, that's been covered enough.

What I'm really looking for is a real review from someone who has at least test-fired one of the little things, an actual emergency user review would be awesome, of course.

And if anyone has an expired one they'd be willing to sell so I could try it out that would be spiffy, too!

Things I'm hoping the blaster will do well:
    Range
    User exposure
    Adhedion to target
    Natural pointing factor

I have zero experience wielding pepper spray, I've been on the wrong end of tear-gas back in my seafaring days as part of respirator training, I intend to try the blaster out before I commit to it, would one shot for me and one for MrsBFD do? We are both fairly skilled in handgun use and carry regularly, the hassle of flying with a gun (yes, I know what's required and that it isn't that bad) and the fact that on vacation we'll be in various prohibited places, I'm waffling on whether I want to take my most discreete carry pistol, the pepper blaster, or both.

Thanks in advance for the helpful info!

I just want to warn you about pepper spray (especially if it contains UV dye): It could potentially cause permanent damage to your mucous membranes. I went through a pepper spray course back in 2009 and the stream somehow went straight up my right nostil into the turbinate region. It caused temporary irritation but permanent damage, to the point where now I'm daily dependent upon saline solutions, FloNase, and Afrin to open up the airway. It's NO JOKE this stuff!!! This is your disclaimer.

What's really funny is that I started this thread in preparation for a vacation almost a year ago.
Since then I bought 3, test fired 1, and put 2 in service.

We're back in the same place for vacation again now, and are using the K.P.B.s for a line of defense ... after testing the first one out, I colored the front & rear sights, marked the two to differentiate them, and dubbed them "the ink defense"

Not sure why the resurrection ... but if someone searches their way in, I found the kimber pepper blaster to be a decent O.C. option for a somewhat skilled handgunner.

T66, the permanent damage sucks, but that's just too bad if it gets inflicted on a mugger. They knew it was a dangerous job etc.etc.

Freiheit, interesting link, but the one we testfired shot to POA at the max range and made a spatter just like the advertising images. I prefer to not have a pressurized can of nasty in my pocket, and the K.P.B. uses the handgun skills I already have while running very little risk of backspray. (I shot one into the wind, noticed nothing)
Unless someone wants to volunteer for testing, I have no desire for an aerosol O.C. device ... the K.P.B. should do for a shoot&scoot on an opportunistic predator.

Good to know - I have a friend who lives with some special needs adult children and is unable to keep a firearm on her property because of that. This might be a very viable option for her.
