    taking a refugee hunting

my mother has become somewhat of a mentor to a family of refugees from Burma. they stopped by the house today looking for something they left in her car and the oldest son started asking me alot of questions about joining the military and about hunting.

hes a sharp kid, maybe 19, hes still in high school here because theyve only been in the US about 2 years. he told me that hes very interested in joining the military and learning to hunt to get food for his family, but he has a hunting license but not a gun.

im on the edge about doing it since i dont know him very well.... but i want to take him hunting for squirrel or maybe deer. prior to that though, im going to take him to the range and teach him a little about shooting and alot about firearms safety. the main reason im worried about doing it is just the language barrier.

any advice? i dont have much time to take him since ill only be home until the 20th, then i have to be back in to my base in florida.

Hunter Ed class, followed by some range time. I'd get a feel for his competence with a firearm, if he's really interested and responsible.

After that, some trips for small game would be in order.
