    I got the whole set!

Isn't it great when you finally get all the pieces you need to finish a set? In this case, it's a final piece to a self defense setup that is good looking, very functional, durable, and very well made. To what do I refer? The High Noon Triple Threat of the Down Under with straps, the Rock Steady gun belt, and the newest member of the trio, the Double Take leather double magazine holder!

That completes the setup for my beloved CZ SP-01 Phantom, and let me show you why, as this is an excellent item for your belt, too. The gear is always very well made, when it has the High Noon logo on it,

    and that "other" side,

Ah, THERE'S that logo I was talking about! The screws to adjust tension are easy to use and work smoothly. The mag carrier sits reasonably snug, and holds two 18 round SP-01 magazines with no difficulty. What about for concealment? Well, everyone has seen a mag carrier hanging off a belt, but what about this way?

Yep, it will work, and work well, even backwards.

*Happy sigh*, Yep, I finally got the whole set of really good gun leather. 8)

BTW, if you think THIS is a good looking set, (and it is), try this one on for size! Now this is the way to carry a Texas barbecue gun!

Does Arizona Penitentiary have a leather shop where you work? I hear the best leather work used to be done by prisons.

Not any more, last person who showed me an inmate made duty belt was made about 15 years ago. Now ACI makes mattresses, license plates, and runs the bakery.

Jest curious-can you adjust the tension of your mag holder so you have the same tension on both magazines?

I had a Galco, High Noon, and DeSantis-of the three, I liked the DeSantis the best. It was more compact, and had more of a shrink wrap design to it-the High Noon mag carrier was made with one piece of leather that was wrapped-you could see where they skived the leather at the overlap in an effort to get the thickness of the leather the same as the single layer. It appears as a result of this design, I could not get the same retention tension on both magazines. Of the three, only the DeSantis was made with two pieces of leather sewn together on both ends-apparently having the same thickness of leather allows you to have the same retention tension on both magazines-something I could not do with the High Noon, and I think the Galco? Don't remember 'bout the Galco AFA retention, but it was also made like the High Noon-the leather was wrapped and attached at one point-it was not as compact as the DeSantis.

If I adjusted one magazine with perfect tension, the other mag was either too loose (would be afraid you could lose it) or too tight (it was a struggle to get it out), depending on whether you adjusted the front or back mag for perfect tension.

Anywho-I kept the High Noon holster, sent back the double mag carrier, and use the DeSantis-it matches the finish of the High Noon as if it was made by 'em.

That is a shame, lots or artistic talent winds up in prison.

This is the link that went into the finer points of a court/BBQ Gun for those that like me that hadn't heard of one.

basic, yes, the tension is the same in both sides. I have never tried DeSantis, sorry.

jesse, you have no idea - I have seen artists in prison turn out drawings and such that could show in a gallery...that were confiscated by SSU because there were gang signs in the work.

Mebbe I had an oddball, or maybe my mags were thicker than yours?
Anywho-in the last picture you posted, you can see where the leather overlaps where the pouch is riveted at the center back. Where the leather overlaps, if I looked from above, I could see where they skived the leather in an effort to maintain the thickness of the overlapped leather.
Also in your pix, you can see where the leather on the left magazine bows in slightly at the rivet-the leather on the right magazine is straight leading to the rivet-this was causing me problems with adjusting the tension to match on both mags.

BTW-I was using XD9 and 40 magazines in mine-being double stack, they are pretty thick.
