A major percentage of questions that often pop up here are answered in these articles. They address Piettas and Ubertis separately, but owners of one will benefit from reading the articles on the other. Digest the information in all and you'll end up with a very good understanding of your open top. Properly fitted, the design is plenty strong, it's reliable and it will shoot consistently (in addition to being a lot easier to deal with).
