Stripper guide for the Stevens 200 pseudo-Scout I'm building.

Now I need to get some stripper clips and see if it works

If it works, I'll duplicate it in steel. I'm not sure how much I can trust those little aluminum nubs, but cutting aluminum is so much less hassle for a prototype.

Which strippers did you set it up for?

You have to have it set for the size for your stripper clips you are going to use and you have to have picked a stripper clip that sits up the right distance from your magazine.

There are at least 3 and maybe three Mauser stripper clips. One (at least) for the M'91 through the M'95 a special one for the M'96 and the final one for the M'98. The earlier one only has two sets of lugs. The M'98 one has three sets of lugs. The special one for the M'96 is fatter because the case heads it holds are fatter.

There is another for the US .30-06. It feeds the M1903, M1917, M1903A3 and the spoon for the BAR mags.

There is another for the US M14 and NATO rifles using 7.62 X 51 NATO.

The one that is very expensive and sold as a MATCH stripper clip for a bolt action match rifle is generally a very much better built (stainless steel body with two separate sets of springs) unit that is usually $7.50 or so for two of them and use the same sizes that the US .30-06 clip used. This is also the size for the Winchester M-70, which came, pre-'64, with a built in clip slot.

If the receiver bridge on your rifle is the same size as that of a Remington M-700, you can buy a pre-made clip slot that they use on the M-700 action when they want to add a clip slot.

It's set up (copied directly from) M1903 style clips.

I'd like to be able to use M14 strippers, but if it won't work for those as-is redoing it a little different is easy.

No way I'm going to pay for something when I have a Bridgeport and piles of bar stock.
