    Question Jericho series~~~

My husband and I have been getting a few discounted movies and other 'series' for our viewing pleasure.

We don't have cable or a dish and only use OTA television here. No government box but a newer television with 'rabbit ears' and I set it up. So far so good for reception in the new house. We don't watch much anyway but we do catch a show here and there, westerns, some old shows, Perry Mason, some movies on THIS and M.E. TV and PBS.

We purchased the Jericho series - Season 1 and Season 2. I do not know if this was on regular television or on cable since I have hardly had ANY television reception except for 2 years (?) out of 10 years out here. Online... some of it and that is where I get most of my news.

According to the history of this show, they did not make a Season 3 for television but they do have a BOOK on it called 'Jericho - Season 3 - Civil War' but I have been unable to find it in my searches. Sold out or not available anywhere. I did see a couple of HIGH priced ones on some other links and I was wondering IF any of you have read this BOOK. Have any of you read it? Where did you get your book and was it any good since it continued on with the story?

Guns, survival, self defense, living after a bunch of bombs went off, etc. = sounds like a good story to me.

Can any of you help me here, please?

By the way, we have NOT watched the entire series yet either. So please don't tell me the ending. Thank you!

They were rerunning it on Scifi a while back. Typical post apopolyptic storyline more or less. I tried to like it but I had too many missing episodes to really "get it". Overall I was a little disappointed.
Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for anything but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I watched the series. It was good. A small town coming together to defend friends and neighbors against aggressors while trying to find out what is going on.

    Thanks.

I will watch some of our Jericho dvds tonight.

I really would like to get the 'Jericho Season 3 - Civil War' book that tells more of where the series left off.

I liked it quite a lot. I wound up watching most the episodes on the network's website

I watched the whole series 1 and 2 on cable, and later bought the DVD sets. I won't spoil it for you, but I surprised how many episodes it took before most of the men were toting long guns in the street on a routine basis :-) Hollywood writers would be my guess.

All in all, it was pretty good for television. Some of the sub-plots get a bit convoluted, but then they were trying to sustain interest for a multi-part series, not just a single feature.

The season 3 comic is also available in electronic form if you can't find/afford the paper version.

The paper version is *sometimes* available for acceptable pricing thru Amazon vendors.

Around $13.50 plus shipping as of this writing. That could change rapidly, move fast if you want it in soiled dead tree format.

Smile Thank you and a question about one shotgun in the series.

    Rod,

Thanks for the information. I finished watching the series. I agree with you and a few others about the story line. I did LIKE the series and I wish that they showed a Season 3!

I may get the Season 3 as far as the book version goes. I have never used Amazon.

I did catch a couple of things in the show where something did not add up in the story line when they showed another scene immediately after one scene was shown but it escapes me now. Sorry about that!

Besides... I would not want to spoil the story for anyone else who has not seen it yet.

Was the shotgun used by the deaf sister towards the end of the series an 'Ithaca' 12 gauge one? My husband has not seen the entire series yet but he did see the lady use the shotgun in one scene. He only got a quick glance and thought that it might have been an Ithaca one.

Thanks to everyone else here too!

PS: I picked up some more western movies lately too. If anyone is interested, Super Walmart not only has 1 or more movies on 1 disc for $5.00 (Bin.) but they recently brought out a super pack of westerns, mysteries, action, war, etc. movies in a BIG $10. package of dvds. These $10. packages are fairly new displays of movies too. I do not know if they have them in Canada, Rod, or your conversion rate. The $5. discounted movies in a big bin have been around for some time too.
