The sheriff of the neighboring county is sort of an Andy Taylor type, in a world far less benign.

There was an episode in the first season of "Southland" involving a rape-homicide, the detectives take evidence to lab tech and tell him to rush it. So, they can get a DNA match for identification. Lab tech places it in a pile and replies to the effect "I got a 7 year back log. I'll get to it when I can". Unfortunately, that is closer to the truth than any other cop show on tv.
Those were episodes of the last season of "Southland".Originally Posted by TallPine
There was 2 episodes following up on the shooting involving the female cop, it was ruled "justified" because she altered the scene prior to other officers showing up and she lied to the shooting review team. Her partner tried to get her to come clean, but she refused because she was up for a promotion, which she got.
There was another shooting in the same season, where a woman shot some guy trying to return her keys which she forgot at a store. She thought he was following her to do harm to her, so she shot him. Officers took her into custody and as they were driving her to the station, one of the officers (the female one that shot the kid with the toygun) coached her on what to tell the detectives so she could get off.
There was an episode in an earlier season (1 or 2, forgot which), where officers responded to a business for a disturbance. Store owner thought some guy was about to rob him and a physical altercation broke out. As they were getting everyone's story, one of the officers discover a revolver with the serial numbers ground off it and asks the store owner about it, store owner tells the officer he got it for protection due to his buisness being robbed multiple times. Officer tells him, he can't have it due to the serial numbers being ground off. Then tells the shop owner that he needs to buy a gun legally from a gunstore and that he'll be back after 10 days to confiscate the revolver with the grounded off serial numbers.

12 seasons! So I understand...she made me buy 12 seasons of that show. Gah.
The terrible thing is that IF they can keep from bad mouthing gun owners it's a decent show.My wife also loves the show.Fortunately,no requests for past season DVD's yet.
I agree in bold. But with Wolf, it's just not possible. He truly, viscerally despises firearms.

'Harry Callahan' Magnum Force 1973
He actually DID show one citizen using a lawfully possessed firearm in self defense. The "citizen" was portrayed as a nasty mouthed wise acre, and the cops moaned about how they couldn't arrest him because he was legal.
Watched Detective Munch complain about Black Talons, and how they got pulled off the street becuase they were "cop killers", and one walk on actor asked, "Because of all the cops they killed?" Even Dick Wolff couldn't lie that much, and his character mumbled something about they were about to be banned for being so deadly, etc., but they never actually killed any cops.
Really, a round that never was used to murder a LEO is a "cop killer" bullet. Go figure...
Sometimes I'll watch the show with my wife, and when the anti-rights garbage comes on, I'll go load some ammo.![]()
