    SOST Ammo?

Anyone have any information on this "new" 5.56 ammo?

    The blubs I've seen say:

This is 5.56 Federal Lake City XMT556TNB1 62gr. Open Tip Match Ammo.....

5.56 Federal MK318 MOD-0 62gr. Special Operations Science and Technology (SOST) Open Tip Match Ammo....

This new SOST round from ATK was designed for the USMC as a supplemental round to M855 green tip with more desirable terminal characteristics, and it must be used in a 5.56 chambered weapon...

Designated as MK318 MOD-0 the round was designed as a barrier defeating round with superior penetration and good ballistic stability. MK318 utilizes a 62 grain open tip boat tail match bullet with a lead core and reverse copper jacket creating the open tip....

Found some that is labelled "seconds" for a good price but I haven't shot it before and no one I know has much info on it.

Okay- I have found a few articles saying it's better that the M855 ball ammo (green tip), but haven't found any ballistic info to showcase that.

    Sorry, never heard of it.
If total government control equals safety, why are prisons so dangerous?
