Molon Labe on a Greek flag?
I think they mean "come and take it" as in come and take my enormous fat pension (and I'll start burning cars and smashing shop windows).
But, there is a very famous 1911 site run out of Greece by a 1911 guru named John Caradimis: http://www.m1911.org/

Have you any clue whence comes the phrase, "Molon Labe"?

What's the point of attempting a civil discussion with someone so rude that they begin a post with "have you any clue" and doesn't say anything else. Add some civility and/or a point of view that is your own, and then I'll have something worth responding to in the realm of discussion.

I seem to have missed the information that modern Greeks were like ancient Spartans in their readiness to fiercely defend their national independence. Now if the Swiss had a comparable phrase on their flag, I might understand it.I'm simply pointing out that it should not be any surprise at all to see Molon Labe on a Greek flag. The surprise is that it is not on all of them.![]()
It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.

Again, the molon labe in this context has nothing to do with firearms or national independence or anything else. It's about an entitlement culture draining the productive nations of the EU for their huge pensions and social programs. It's "come and take it (my pension)" and I'll start burning buildings.
And Merkel caved and pissed away more billions of German money to bail them out.

The Greeks did their best in 1941. Like rest of Western and Central Europe, the Nazi Machine ovrrwhelmed them.
Years of incredible suffering followed. One man had a vision, tens of millions died.
Life is certainly NOT fair. And will never be. But never as much as between 1938 and 1945. Never Again.
We must do our best to, "Make it so."

KB, JD, I accept both of your points.

But I remember the phrase starting to gain traction about the time Charlton Heston said "from my cold dead hands".....

People have some respect for the complexity of technology. But almost every ignorant fool thinks he understands money and economics.
Right on. Note this artickle from 2000:

I think we can now put this baby to rest.Charlton Heston's usage
The phrase gained new found popularity on May 20, 2000, when veteran actor and then-NRA president Charlton Heston capped a speech at the 129th NRA convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, by concluding:
For the next six months, [Democratic presidential candidate and then-Vice President of the United States Al Gore] is going to smear you as the enemy. He will slander you as gun-toting, knuckle-dragging, bloodthirsty maniacs who stand in the way of a safer America. Will you remain silent? I will not remain silent. If we are going to stop this, then it is vital to every law-abiding gun owner in America to register to vote and show up at the polls on Election Day.
Near the end of his remarks, Heston paused to pick up a replica of Sharps buffalo rifle and continued:[4]
So, as we set out this year to defeat the divisive forces that would take freedom away, I want to say those fighting words for everyone within the sound of my voice to hear and to heed, and especially for you, Mr. Gore: 'From my cold, dead hands!'[5]
Charlton Heston, May 20, 2000
He repeated the phrase at the end of each NRA convention over which he presided as president of the NRA. When he announced his retirement, he concluded by repeating "From my cold, dead hands."[6]
But there are still restless folks out there!![]()
