from my POV the bag of testosterone that goes threatening an armed individual is simply someone that chose to use a homeowner to commit suicide rather than pills or car exhaust.
And from my POV, any "bag of testosterone" who "stands his ground" and ends up shooting someone when he could have instead walked away safely, without gunfire, has decided to threaten the right of anyone to enjoy SYG protection.

Now you are forcing me to define terms like a new york democrat.

Stand your ground, as I understand it, means you are not required to take extreme measures to avoid a confrontation. That includes retreating into a dangerous landscape to 'safely' get away.

Bag of testosterone is a man thinking with his little head rather than his big one.

Now, nowhere in either term is there an implication that one should seek out confrontation. Nor do I believe there should be legal protection for such an action. In the case you mentioned, there are two bags of testosterone meeting, one should be buried in the ground and the other in a maximum security installation to protect the peace and dignity of society.

The Hindenburg was a dirigible not a hot air balloon. It depended on hydrogen gas for it's lift. And I thought you were up on history!

    (hurt my feelings will you.)

Felix Windowsmasher breaks into my house at darkthirty and I have a chance to sneak out of the house and escape unharmed. By your logic I should just let Felix have free rein over my house, my possessions and my blind sister who does not have a clear access to safety? If I stay and defend myself, my sister and my property I am a bag of testosterone. I get it and I will hereby dial down my testosterone levels.

This will allow liberals who worry more about Felix's rights than mine to feel good about their humanity and their dreams of a gentler kinder world where we all submit like good little pacifists. Felix and his kind will be so overwhelmed by our gentleness they will go back to school and become teachers, social workers and nurses.

Stand your Ground has zero to do with testosterone and everything to do with your rights as a free man or woman to protect yourself from those who would do you harm. I have read the constitution and the bible and nowhere does it say I have a duty to retreat and nowhere does it say that Felix has a right to run rough shod over my family, my house or me.

Mr. Felix, let me introduce you to Mr. Mossberg, he would like to have a word with you.

Which makes his point all the more emphatic.

One of the things that is missing in this discussion is the fact that the laws are different from state to state, and sometimes dramatically so.

In my state, for instance, the criteria for deadly force is merely the threat of bodily harm. In other states, according to my understanding, there is a requirement of "deadly intentions".

I imagine that there is quite the continuum once you start examining the statutory lingo.

Did they count the people who tried to flee felons, or who "gave them what they wanted" and were killed, raped or seriously injured? If they didn't do that, the study is bogus.

Let me simplify this SYG controversy.

If your planning on "going all MMA" on a short, fat, old guy, be aware he may have a gun.

I resemble that remark, except for the short part.
