My new old Sig P225 Black to Desert Tan!

So I picked up this old Sig P225 last week for $350 which seemed like a pretty good deal. The gun came from a security agency and looked like it had been carried quite heavily but internally it looked nearly pristine.

So it turns out someone I work with is just getting into cerakoting and I offered him this gun to practice on. He's a very meticulous person and I was completely confident that the end result would be a thing of beauty and I was right! He took the gun completely apart down to bare frame and bare slide and did all the small parts in black. The side and frame he did in desert tan and he replaced the old sights with night sights.

The gun came out brilliantly I think and for his first cerakoting job I told him that he should be extremely proud of himself for doing such a professional looking job on it. He only wants $75 but I'll most like pay him $100 because it came out so well.

Anyway lots of before and after pics below.....

He did a good job, not my choice of color but the it looks very well applied. You really stole that gun. Great price.

My 225 is my favorite handgun. It shoots incredibly well and fits me like a glove. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

    It's an abomination!

But, admittedly, a very pretty abomination.

Enjoy! Let us know about how the finish holds up.

That came out great. The 225 has been on my list for several years.

Oh sure, if a woman has to have "variable" as her hair color on her driver's license men call it horrible. But when it's the bluing on a handgun that's fine and dandy!

Now that I have that out of my system... Very nice job. You need lighter color grips though.

    Perhaps pink?

    $350 for a Sig? Huh. I've never seen them under $600 ...

Sweet deal, and the ceramic coat looks well done. Now the grips are the only part that could use some improvement.

BTW, the grip screws, are they aluminum or steel?
