As ‘American Sniper’ soars, will critics zero on ‘gun culture?’

While American movie-goers are making “American Sniper” a box office record-breaker, critics are sniping back, taking all manner of shots at the film, and one might wonder whether some of this distaste is perhaps due to a subconscious reaction to the central core of the film: the story of a man who was remarkably proficient with a rifle.

Americans have been using snipers since the days of the Pilgrims and Puritans in the early 17th Century.

Through the days of the French and Indian War in the 1750's, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War on both sides and on through to today.

So has every other country that has engaged in warfare for centuries.

The whole argument against snipers is just more leftist illogical cupidity.

Stalin and the Soviets probably realized more out of snipers, men and women, than any other nation in history, from 1941 to 1945 against the Germans.

Thousands of the Wehrmacht and Nazis went down under the great shooting behind those Mosins. They helped immensely to turn the tide at Stalingrad, the most pivotal battle of World War II.

If Hitler had prevailed there, those Hollywood brats probably wouldn't even exist today. The same asses that smoke cigars with Fidel in Havana. They're scum.
