What Is the Favorite City In the World That You Have Visited?

Lets of possibilities here. Myself, San Francisco, Paris, London, New York City, Granada, Amsterdam, Munich, Venice are on the top.

I would have to say New York City, followed by Granada and San Francisco, are the 3 favorites.

    What is your favorite?

Chiang Mai, Thailand, at least as it was in 1969 to an unsupervised 18 year old. Now? NOTA
Gee, I'd love to see your data!

I'd have to put Manila up there, I was single at the time.

As far as tourism that married people can engage in also, I'd say Heidelberg, Stuttgart, Dachau, Salzburg, no particular cities in Belgium or the Netherlands but the countryside there was very nice, as were the people.

Honestly though, the greatest place I ever went was Jolo City.

Visit? Hhmm. Not in any particular order - San Francisco, Colorado Springs, Jackson, WY, Sedona, AZ, Santa Fe, NM, Hot Springs, AR, New Orleans, Naples, FL, St. Augustine, FL, Key West, FL, Savannah, GA.

Live? Hot Springs, Jackson, or Sedona, esp. these last two.

As for outside the U.S., there are a variety of cities I would like to visit - but ONLY if I could go back 40-50 years.

I get along fine and like just fine pretty much wherever I am. Most of my high schooling was in Tokyo (1955-58), and I really didn't want to leave. For seven years, I lived in Thailand (1965-72), half in Bangkok and half near Changmai, where I felt quite at home. I am getting along well now just outside of Detroit.

    @Chuch Dye,
I was teaching at Changmai University and living a bit out in the country about a kilometer past the "super highway" on the road to Sankampaeng. Who knows, we might have seen each other at some time.

J.T., Santa Fe, St. Augustine, Savannah and Sedona are certainly very cool.

I would add Charleston, South Carolina.

For living, give me Springerville, Arizona

Guthrie, Oklahoma, and Taos, New Mexico. San Antonio, Texas, is cool, too.

Taos is wonderful and hard to compare for small town living.
At over 7,000 feet, prepare for nose bleeds and snow on July the 4!

    I did in 1996.

BTW, US 64 runs from the NC Outer Banks to Teec Nos Pas, New Mexico, over 2300 miles. My wife and I took it all the way in '96. Click here for the history of US 64.

It was the greatest US trip of our 50 year lifetime together.

At the end, we had totaled 9,500 memorable miles, Miami to San Diego and back.

How about a city of 25 million with a homicide rate that's as low as VT, no gangs to be seen, no fear of violent crime, very little property crime even, and views like this a short subway ride and hike away?

    That is true beauty.

The rockiness reminds me of a very interesting city I had the opportunity to visit while in the Navy back in the late sixties. Valletta, Malta.

I don't remember precisely where the carrier dropped anchor, but we took a liberty launch to the base of some cliffs and had to take an elevator to the top. I do remember their main crops were potatoes and rocks.

Cities, I'm not as well traveled as many of you but I really liked New Orleans and Pittsburgh and Washington DC.

I'm really more of a small town guy. Port Clinton, Ohio and Huntington WV are nice. Athens OH too.

I got a speeding ticket in Athens,Ohio on May 9,1992, on US 33, while heading from White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia to Chicago. The Trooper was very polite, professional and firm. $75. Other than that, the Athens area was quite charming!

In Europe, Zurich, Valencia, Barcelona, Paris, Nice, Florence.

So many other small towns and villages I've driven through in Spain, France, Italy and Germany that are so picturesque and seem as though they'd have great quality of life ... wish I'd taken notes and a lot more photos.

Actually -- I have to add: Perth and Fremantle, Western Australia. All the beauty, the wonderful weather of San Diego, none of the traffic, crime or pollution. Beautiful women ('Ello, Yank" -- I get goosebumps), incredible beaches, great beer ... I could go on and on ...

    Smile

Have to agree with San Diego. Lived in a small oceanfront apartment in Malibu in 1960, something I could not afford today. $110 a month, $1100 in todays money.

The incredible perfect weather, the mellow folks, the great women beachcombers! Being 18 helped!

I don't recall absolutely where the transporter moored, yet we took a freedom dispatch to the base of a few bluffs and needed to take a lift to the best. I do recall their fundamental harvests were potatoes and rocks. Get dissertation help UK
