    What do I have here?

I have a cleaning kit in a roll-up OD pack. It has a steel cleaning rod in 4 sections plus a handle. One section has a jag for a cleaning patch or rag as it is rather long. Each section has a brass screw-connect . The kit also has 3 bore brushes, a small bore mirror and another bigger slotted fixture perhaps for cleaning a chamber. It also has 2 round, black, screw top containers full of grease and the tops have a brush attached.

Each of the grease pots has the following on the top: GRASSIE ARMES AUT. and AUTOMATENFETT
In the center of the cap in a small circle is an F and a + sign surrounded by a big rounded W.

Can anybody tell me if this is military or not, what the country of origin is and if it is 'generic' or specific to some weapon?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

A cleaning kit was issued for the Stgw57 (aka PE57).

Those are great cleaning kits. I bought a bunch of them when they were on sale for $5 each. Wish I had kept more of them instead of giving most of them away as Christmas presents.

Automattenfett is GREAT grease...easily as good as Lubriplate. A little goes a long way, don't slather it on.
